Today, the Supreme Court affirmed what we argued in our petition: the law cannot create special protections for one sector whose members fail to report for military service while continuing to be enforced against others. The Court ruled unanimously that the legislative process was fundamentally flawed, and a majority of eight justices also found that the law severely infringes upon the core of the constitutional right to equality and fails to meet constitutional requirements.<br \/>\nThe Knesset attempted to pass, through a flawed legislative process, a law that deepens inequality and weakens enforcement of the duty to serve, and the Supreme Court struck it down. The same law must apply to everyone.
