The Movement for Quality Government in Israel: The revelation that head of the National Security Council Tzachi Hanegbi is being investigated on suspicion of receiving a bribe of 10,000 NIS in exchange for a letter of recommendation is particularly serious and raises grave concerns about the exploitation of a public position to benefit personal interests. At this time, when the country is at war and the NSC is making fateful decisions, it is unreasonable that the person heading it is being investigated on suspicion of bribery.
We call on the prime minister to immediately suspend Tzachi Hanegbi from his position as head of the National Security Council until the suspicions against him are clarified. The Movement for Quality Government in Israel will closely monitor the development of the investigation and will use all the means at its disposal to protect standards in public life and to eradicate the phenomena of governmental corruption. The Israeli public deserves elected officials who are clean and who act solely in the public interest.
