Netanyahu’s scandalous decision to fire Shin Bet head Ronen Bar, in the midst of an investigation into his office and his people, is a transparent and blatant attempt to torpedo the Qatar-Gate investigation and deter the gatekeepers. This is a mafia-like step that cannot not be condoned. We call on the attorney general to immediately clarify to Netanyahu that he is barred from taking this decision due to a clear conflict of interest, and to tell government ministers to uphold the law and not to be complicit in the crime of obstructing investigations.
