Maj. Gen. Tomer-Yerushalmi’s decision to take responsibility for her actions publicly and submit her resignation is the only appropriate and required step in these circumstances. We respect the way this standard in public life was acted upon, and we also call on those elected officials who have a heavy cloud of criminal suspicions and indictments hanging over their heads to learn from it, stop clinging to their positions, put down the keys, and fight to clear their names as private citizens.
