What We're Fighting for Now
Protecting Election Integrity
As Israel approaches the 2026 elections, MQG is working to protect the integrity of the electoral process and the public's right to free and fair elections. Our work includes legal action to protect voters' privacy, prevent the improper use of voter information, safeguard the independence of institutions responsible for the elections, and challenge attempts to use government power or public resources to influence the democratic process. We are also preparing for rapid legal action before, during and after Election Day.
Equal Conscription
We are leading the legal and public fight for equal enforcement of Israel's military service obligations. In September 2026, following our petition, the Supreme Court struck down legislation designed to halt enforcement against draft evaders. The struggle continues to ensure that the law is applied equally and that rights and benefits are not granted in violation of the principle of equality.
Accountability for October 7
We are demanding the establishment of an independent State Commission of Inquiry into the failures surrounding October 7. Such a commission must be able to investigate the political, military and civilian decision-making that preceded the attack, establish responsibility at every level, and provide the public with answers essential to restoring trust and preventing future failures.

A Constitution for Israel
Israel has never completed a full, agreed-upon constitution. MQG's Constitution for the Homeland initiative brings together legal experts, public figures, civil society organizations and citizens to build a broad democratic constitutional foundation for Israel.
The initiative seeks to protect equality and civil rights, institutional independence and the rule of law, while establishing stable democratic rules for Israel's future.

Who We Are
The Movement for Quality Government in Israel is an independent, nonpartisan civil society organization with more than 75,000 members. For 36 years, we have been at the forefront of the fight to defend Israeli democracy, the rule of law and integrity in government.
We fight government corruption and abuse of power, protect democratic institutions and public resources, and mobilize citizens to demand accountable, transparent government. Our work combines legal action, policy and legislative advocacy, public campaigns, civic education and grassroots action.

Legal Action
We use strategic litigation to defend the rule of law, judicial independence, equality before the law, integrity in government and democratic oversight of public institutions.
Economic Governance
We protect public resources and promote responsible economic governance, fair competition and professional, independent management of Israel's public institutions and companies.
Whistleblower Protection
We provide legal assistance and support to whistleblowers who expose corruption and wrongdoing, and work to protect them from retaliation for acting in the public interest.
Civic Education
We conduct hundreds of courses and lectures and reach thousands of young people in schools, colleges, youth movements and pre-military programs, providing practical tools for democratic participation, civic responsibility and active citizenship.
Public Action & Protest
We mobilize citizens through demonstrations, campaigns, petitions, conferences, community events and grassroots networks, giving the public practical ways to take action.
Policy & Legislation
We monitor legislation, participate in Knesset committee hearings, develop proposals for reform and work to stop harmful measures advanced without transparency, proper process or public accountability.
Constitution & Democratic Renewal
Through our Constitution for the Homeland initiative, we are advancing a broad public process to develop a democratic constitutional framework that protects equality, civil rights, institutional independence and the rule of law.
Recent Achievements
Equal Conscription
Following our petition, the Supreme Court struck down legislation intended to freeze enforcement against draft evaders. The Court unanimously found a fundamental defect in the legislative process, and eight of nine justices also ruled that the law severely violated the constitutional right to equality.
Protecting Independent Oversight
Following our petition, the High Court unanimously annulled the flawed election of the Prime Minister's personal attorney as State Comptroller after the secrecy of the Knesset vote was compromised, requiring the Knesset to hold a new, lawful election.
Accountability for October 7
We continue the legal fight for an independent State Commission of Inquiry into the failures surrounding October 7 and oppose political alternatives designed to evade genuine accountability.
Defending Judicial Independence
We are challenging attempts to politicize Israel's judicial system, including legislation changing the Judicial Selection Committee and efforts to turn independent gatekeeping positions into political appointments.
Protecting Independent Media Regulation
Our legal action has helped block attempts to politically reshape the Second Authority Council while the case is before the Court.
Restoring Proper Governance at Israel Aerospace Industries
Following our petition, the government ended an 18-month leadership vacuum and appointed a permanent chairman to one of Israel's most important strategic companies.
