The Movement for Quality Government: A government that decides for itself which court rulings to obey and which to violate is trampling the rule of law. This is anarchistic conduct. This is criminal conduct.
It must be emphasized: the High Court’s ruling binds the government just as it binds every citizen in the country. No minister may turn himself into the legislator, the judge, and the enforcer all at once.
We call on all gatekeepers, first and foremost the Attorney General, to stand against this move with full force and make clear that there is no such thing as a ruling the government is entitled “not to recognize.”
We will continue the legal and public fight until it is clear to everyone: in the State of Israel, no one is above the law, not even the government.
The Movement intends to apply to the High Court under the Contempt of Court Ordinance, and to demand that heavy sanctions be imposed on the responsible ministers, including substantial fines and even arrest, until they fully comply with the Court’s decision.
