The Movement for Quality Government: A government that chooses for itself which rulings to uphold and which to violate – tramples on the rule of law. This is anarchist conduct; this is criminal conduct. It is important to emphasize: the High Court’s decision obliges the government just as it obliges every citizen in the country. No minister is allowed to turn himself into a legislator, a judge, and an executor at the same time. We call on all gatekeepers – led by the Attorney General – to stand against this move with all their might and make it clear that there is no ruling that the government is entitled to “not recognize”. We will continue the legal and public struggle until it is clear to everyone: in the State of Israel, no one is above the law – not even the government.
The Movement intends to apply to the High Court of Justice with a request under the Contempt of Court Ordinance, and demand that heavy sanctions be imposed on the responsible ministers – heavy fines and even arrest – until they comply with the court’s decision in full.
